The Industrial Research Institute today announced Kent Crawford will assume the role of chairman. He will officially take office as IRI Chairman at the close of IRI’s 2006 Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, Colo. In addition to his new role, Crawford will continue serving as vice president of engineering at Schneider Electric’s North American Operating Division.

Kent has been committed to our cause and an active member of the IRI for many years. Crawford, based in Nashville, has been on IRI’s Board of Directors since 2003 and has been active in the Institute’s Membership, Finance and Program Planning Committees. He succeeds former IRI Chairman Susan Gaud, of Kraft Foods, Inc. Schneider Electric has been a member organization of the IRI since 1989.
Additional IRI Board of Directors appointments include Richard R. Paul, Vice President, Strategic Development and Analysis, Phantom Works, The Boeing Company as Chairman-Elect and Steven L.
