Sustaining Successful New Product Innovation in an Uncertain Economy

During the past decade, Corning has experienced two significant business disruptions – the bursting of the telecom / dot.com bubble in 2001 and the recession of 2009. In each case, Corning tuned its growth and innovation strategies using a set of foundational principles, to adjust to the so-called ‘new normal’. In both cases, new product and process innovation were sustained and contributed to significant growth of the enterprise.
