Business Models in Collaborative Relationships

Collaborative research has taken its place as a mainstream innovation process. Its purpose is to access external sources of technology (or other assets) and integrate them into the firm’s products and services. IRI firms are actively engaged in collaborative research, joining forces with a wide variety of universities, small high-technology firms, mid-market companies, and large firms to meet their technology commercialization goals. Over the last 20 years, the Research-on-Research (ROR) committee has chartered eleven projects focused on improving the performance of collaborative research relationships.
