The Timken Company's Story of Transformation
James W. Griffith, President & CEO, The Timken Company
To hear Jim Griffith tell it, The Timken Company is a new company built upon a 100-year-old legacy.
Griffith, who has led Timken since 1999, discusses the company’s transformation, which fundamentally changed its business model over the past decade. Timken has evolved from an automotive-focused, U.S.-based manufacturer of tapered roller bearings--its foundational product--and highly specialized steel with $2.5 billion in annual revenues, to a truly global enterprise creating value in diversified industrial markets with its broad line of industrial mechanical power transmission solutions. The company posted more than $5 billion in revenues in 2011.
