For decades computing technologies have helped make work more efficient. Given this fact, people tend to consider artificial intelligence (AI) simply as a powerful technology for displacing people and reducing costs. Paul Daugherty has a different view. He believes that companies that seek a partnership between people and intelligent systems will be the most successful in the future. In this interview, Daugherty discusses the future of work and provides an introduction to the kind of thinking required to grapple with the changes AI will bring. He places emphasis on the new organizational roles that will be necessary for success with intelligent systems.
