I’ve spent the last 15 years working on ideas for delivering artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to several industries focused on associative memory–based learning and reasoning. My primary work, first at Saffron Technology and as Saffron was acquired by Intel Corporation, focused on the enterprise—defense and commercial—in areas such as intelligence analysis, product issue and defect resolution, unplanned maintenance, personalization of customer recommendations, and fraud and anti–money-laundering investigations, including peer reviews and customer-centric behavior analysis. This is a broad range of topics, but it barely scratches the surface of the possibilities for applying advanced machine learning and end-to-end AI systems within the enterprise.
