Winter Meeting 2012 - Institutionalizing Innovation Competencies

To research how companies source, retain and reward talent for the innovation function, including Discovery, Incubation and Acceleration.  New innovation roles are emerging (Chief Innovation Officer, New Business Creation specialists, Exploratory Marketing groups, strategic growth groups), but how is new business creation expertise retained, improved and passed along to others?  We examine reward and promotion paths that companies are currently experimenting with as they work to institutionalize innovation as a permanent function.
