IRI President's Message about the Coronavirus Outbreak

Dear IRI Members,

I wanted to share some of the actions IRI is taking to help protect both you and our employees during the COVID-19 outbreak while continuing to move forward with our mission to advance innovation management. This year, we have four events in the spring of each year: our Networks conference, our Annual Conference, i101, and Shaping Innovation Leaders. Each event brings with it certain risks regarding the spread of the virus. We are looking at each event separately and making every effort to ensure these events can continue in a safe and healthy environment.

After much consideration the 2020 Spring Networks Conference scheduled for March 16-18 in New Orleans, LA and our 2020 Annual Conference scheduled for May 12-15 in Philadelphia have been cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19 – the decision to cancel was based on the latest scientific data being reported, and the fact that a large number of our member companies are facing travel bans and restrictions.

Currently, we are exploring options to bring you content in other formats. Our goal is to minimize risk by controlling what we can and providing the safest environment possible for our members. IRI will continue to monitor the situation and update our website accordingly. Our website will be the best source for IRI event updates.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we do what is necessary to effectively work through this international, national, and local health threat. Rest assured that as circumstances continue to develop, one thing will remain the same: we will make our decisions with the health and well-being of our members, employees and communities as our highest priority.

Sincerely,

Edward Bernstein

IRI President
