Description
While there is much information regarding leadership in a general sense, there remains great opportunity to better define leadership in an R&D capacity. This working team determined there are characteristic differences in leadership skills implemented in the technical (R&D) industry versus leadership in other industries.
The working group’s research took two simultaneous paths:
1) leadership styles based approach using roundtable discussions with IRI awardees and medalists, and
2) data analysis of R&D leaders vs. leaders in other functional areas utilizing Center for Creative Leadership databases.
