Innovation Signals Hope Amidst the Pandemic

As I write this, the world is on the downhill side of its first pandemic in 100 years. In the 6 months that the coronavirus has raged around the world, it has infected more than 9 million people and claimed more than 500,000 lives, killing at a rate of more than 100 people per hour. Despite the coronavirus’s rapid spread and devastation, we are fortunate compared to the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, which infected 500 million people and killed 50 to 100 million worldwide.
