Panel: AI-Driven Supply Chain Optimization: Strategies for Resilience and Growth

This session will provide insights and strategies for leveraging AI and machine learning for a more resilient and efficient supply chain. Dr. Chelsea White and Alex Rhodeen will share their expertise in discussing questions such as:

– How has artificial intelligence transformed supply chain management, and what are some of the key benefits that businesses can expect to see in the next five years?
– What strategies and tools can be employed to improve supply chain resilience in the face of disruptions and uncertainties?
–  What are some of the key challenges that companies face when implementing digital supply chain solutions, and how can these be overcome?
– What are the ethical considerations and challenges associated with the use of AI in supply chain management, and how can they be addressed?
 

Meet the Speakers

Alex Rhodeen is Supply Chain Catalyst for the Georgia Tech Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC). The ATDC is the state of Georgia’s technology startup incubator, helping entrepreneurs learn, launch, scale, and succeed in creating viable, disruptive technology companies. In this role, Alex will assess, advise, and connect supply chain startups.

A U.S. Army veteran, Alex is co-founder of two supply chain companies and has worked at startups since leaving active duty. He co-founded Kanga which was an ATDC Portfolio company until its acquisition by GEODIS. As an optimist and a capitalist, he believes the state of Georgia’s commitment to startups is a key component of our thriving economy. Alex received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Chelsea C. White received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (UM) in 1974 in Computer, Information, and Control Engineering.  He has served on the faculties of the University of Virginia (1976 – 1990) and UM (1990 -2001).  He has served as School Chair of the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering (2005 -10) and holds the Schneider National Chair of Transportation and Logistics at Georgia Tech, where he is the former Director of the A.P. Sloan Foundation Trucking Industry Program and the former Executive Director of The Logistics Institute.  While at the University of Michigan, he was the founding Engineering Co-Director of what is now the Tauber Institute for Global Operations, Department Chair of Industrial & Operations Engineering, and Senior Associate Dean of the College of Engineering.  While on leave from Georgia Tech during the 2010-11 academic year, he was the founding department chair of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
