Annual Meeting 2017 - Post Conference Group Outings

Plan now to strengthen your connections with these optional group outings on Thursday, May 11:

FM GLOBAL RESEARCH CAMPUS

Members will be welcomed to the Research Campus by FM Global Executive Vice President, Bret Ahnell. Get a behind-the-scenes look at where FM Global conducts research into exploring hazards and developing potential solutions to every kind of industrial property risk.

Fire, explosion, hurricane-force winds, and earthquake vibrations are all in a day’s work at the FM Global Research Campus—the world’s premier center devoted to preventing physical threats from turning into real-life catastrophes.  Within its state-of-the-art labs, scientists simulate hazards like five-alarm fires, dust explosions or category five hurricanes, to visualize the risk in a safe and controlled environment.

The tour features visits to:
•    The natural hazards lab, which simulates hurricane-force winds, hailstorms and earthquakes;
•    The burn lab, which conducts research to understand loss from fire;  and
•    The viewing gallery, to witness a controlled dust explosion.

FM Global provides complimentary transportation to the Rhode Island facility and back to the Annual Meeting Hotel or your regional airport departure (Boston or Providence) in the late afternoon.

No fee. Pre-registration is required.
Times: 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
